Liam O’Grady is a DOUCHE

As I troll through my usual set of lefty political blogs I run across some right wing screed – that Atlas Shrugged blogger and the Indie Film Fire in the Heartland and a bunch of other crap. But as regularly happens, when I look at the right wing stuff I find a fact, but since I don’t trust what the right wingers say I decide to go verify. A bunch of minutes later I find myself looking on Aljazeera to see if I can get their take on honor killings, honor killings v. domestic violence and perhaps, if I’m lucky, some statistics. I’ll be damned, but a site search on Aljazeera reveals no posts about honor killings, and the Islam online search reveals stories more than a few years old. But then something popped up. My Aljazeera revealed a story about sexual assault in the US Military in Afghanistan. I had earlier red about Phyllis Schaffley almost single-handedly killing the Equal Rights Amendment, so the topic all started to come around.

Before I go on, for the haters out there, Honor Killing is an unimaginable horror. I read about a mother in Texas helping her husband kill their daughters for dressing too western. Unimaginably inexcusable, but also irrelevant to Liam O’Grady being the DOUCHE BAG that he is.

It turns out there was a lawsuit by US Military women v. Rumsfeld and Gates that alleges the permissive atmosphere they created lead to scores of rapes of American service members by other American service members. Before you say since Rummy and Gates didn’t rape, they should not be held accountable, let me assure you (1) indirect action is often a punishable crime and (2) the Bivens case allows for such indirect action. So, having gone through the proper channels these raped Americans had no recourse, but Bivens. Liam O’Grady is a DOUCHE BAG because he chose to empower the case of Chappell, which shut down these raped Americas. He cited, “the unique disciplinary structure of the military establishment” as a Chappell acceptable “special circumstance” and he dismissed these Americans’ lawsuit.

United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Virginia Liam O’Grady is a DOUCHE BAG not for following the available law, which he is required to do, but for choosing to follow the law that shut down Americans from accessing their rights where none other were available. It’s another case of Americans doing all the right things, following the chain of command and only when there is no justice, only then going to take their justice where it is supposedly guaranteed. The judge could have gone another way, but instead set a precedent that because the US Military is unique, it’s psychotic or ill criminal actor-members can steal the Constitutional Rights of American citizens with impunity. WTF! How many rights must be taken away from Americans before the system corrects?

So to bring this all the way around, honor killings are beyond question horrific and the sign of a deeply disturbed mind-set. We should have no quarter for honor killings. At the same time, rape is beyond question horrific and the sign of a deeply disturbed mind-set and we should give no quarter for rape. However, American service members who rape other American service members should be given no quarter and since Liam O’Grady, USDJ ED Va chose to give quarter to those who raped Americans, he is a DOUCHE BAG of the highest order.

This post is also on everyoneintheworld.com. I saw a FB “like” option for Kori Cioca, the named plaintiff, somewhere and hit like. I was going to put this link on her “like” site, then thought the language I use may be offensive to her, so i didn’t. Is my language offensive to Ms. Cioca?
